Google Plus Accounts and your search engine ranking
One way of quickly giving your search engine ranking on Google a little boost is to make sure that your website is linked to your Google+ account. This will help to confirm that your website is genuine, push it up Google’s search rankings and even add your profile picture to your search listing. It all helps to add that personal touch.
If you are on one of our managed website contracts then just send us a link to your Google+ account and we will make the change for you at no extra charge. If you are managing your own website then we have put a code example below, so that you can do it yourself.
If you are outside of contract, but we host your website and you want us to do it, then expect the bill to be no more than 15 minutes of our time.
Code example:
- Add the following between the <head> and </head> tags, substituting appropriately
- <link rel=”author” href=”Google+ account link”>
- Test it works with Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool
If making this change yourselves then you do so entirely at your own risk. Website changes should only be made by an experienced website developer.
